Breast augmentation, or augmentation, is the enlargement of a woman's breasts through the placement of breast implants whether they be saline breast implants or silicone breast implants. The surgeon will also discuss the benefits and risks of surgery including implant type, implant placement, and incision site. Implant locations include above or below the muscle. Incision sites include the breast fold, areola, and the armpit.  The procedure is done under general anesthesia and the patient goes home on the day of surgery.
