Breast Augmentation Procedure – Incision Patterns Miami

September 5, 2014

At Elite Plastic Surgery, board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Moises Salama is proud to offer a variety of breast-related procedures. The most popular of these is the breast augmentation procedure.

For the breast augmentation procedure, Dr. Salama typically uses the inframammary incision, which is made at the breast fold, or the periareolar incision, which made around the border of the areola. These are closest to the target area for the implant, allowing for a great deal of accuracy.

The transaxillary incision, made in the armpit, is another possibility. It is farther away from the breast, which can make it less precise than the other incisions. It does, however, allow for a shorter incision. The transumbilical incision, made in the belly button, is also an option, though it is used infrequently.
