What is a PDO Thread Lift?

A thread lift is a non-surgical cosmetic procedure that has been used for more than 10 years to tighten saggy facial skin—particularly around the eyes, cheeks and jawline areas—resulting in a more youthful and vibrant appearance.

How Are PDO Threads Used?

PDO Thread can be used to lift and bring new life to multiple areas of the face. When placed in the forehead, the threads lift the brows. At the temples, they provide a sexy and fresh fox-eyed look. In the cheeks, they soften laugh lines. In the lower face, they contour the jawline. In addition, a Thread Lift can be done on the neck. However, for best results, multiple threads are often required, sometimes across multiple sessions.

What Areas Can a PDO Thread Lift Treat?

A PDO Thread Lift can be used to treat a variety of different areas and aesthetic concerns, including:

While mainly used for facial areas, PDO Threads can also be used on other parts of the body.

What Are the Benefits of PDO Threads?

PDO Thread Size

Thin and hair-like, small threads are used to add volume or to provide support to an area. They are widely used to treat smile lines for collagen stimulation in order to build volume. Larger threads are used to lift the skin. Both thread types can be combined for extra support in the face, jawline, neck and even the body.

PDO Thread Lift Procedure

Patients will meet with Aesthetics Guru Beatriz Lam, NP to consult on their goals and what’s achievable. Beatriz will then prepare a plan of action based on the consultation. Treatment time frames usually range between 30 minutes to an hour, but this ultimately depends on the services being performed. PDO Threading requires no incisions and is done via injections. Few to several threads may be required for each area of treatment.

The treatment process typically proceeds as follows:

What to Expect During Recovery from a PDO Thread Lift

Immediately after a PDO Thread Lift, you can expect some mild to moderate swelling, bruising and possible dimpling or bunching in the treated area(s). These are all typical symptoms that should disappear in about a week. You may also experience soreness to the touch and with certain facial movements. Should side effects last longer than usual, patients are encouraged to touch base with their aesthetic professional. We recommend avoiding dental work, lasers and other facial procedures that involve stretching the area or applying heat for at least 4 weeks. The tightening effects will begin to become more apparent after 3 to 4 weeks, with a significant difference becoming visible after a month. Maximum effects can be seen at 3 months and results generally last about a year.

How Long Do the Results of a PDO Thread Lift Last?

The PDO Threads begin to dissolve after 6 months. Results can typically last up to a year.
