What Type of Stretch Marks & Scars Can Be Camouflaged?
This type of camouflage treatment is most commonly performed on stretch marks and healed scars from past surgery or injury.
Surgical scars treated include:
Always remember, the treatment is meant to conceal imperfections, not remove them.
Before & After Stretch Mark & Scar Camouflage Treatment
During your consultation with one of our specially trained aesthetic professionals, you will be evaluated based on stretch mark and/or scar color, affected area, skin tone, matching pigmentation, and the sensitivity of your skin to confirm you are a candidate for this treatment. You will also be tested for allergic reactions and undergo a color spot test. You are encouraged to bring loose and comfortable clothing for the treatment. Immediately following your treatment, you can expect the treated area to be red, inflamed, raised, and/or itchy. This is normal and may take a couple of days to subside. You will be given complete post-treatment care instructions by our professionals in order to facilitate the healing process.
Keep in mind, like a regular tattoo, the treated area will scab up during healing. While this treatment is performed following the strictest of safety practices, unanticipated risks include allergic reaction, infection, granulomas, and the formation of keloids during healing.
How Long Does Treatment Take & What Is the Downtime?
Typically, a session lasts between 1-3 hours. It all depends on the affected area. Since this is a non-invasive procedure, there is little to no downtime. Most patients resume work the same day or the following day. However, we recommend taking the day off to avoid touching the treated area since proper aftercare is crucial for optimal results.
Is Stretch Mark Camouflage & Scar Camouflage Painful?
In order to ensure your comfort during treatment, a topical anesthetic may be applied, depending on the affected area. Patients typically report that the treatment is painless, comparing it to a gentle scratching or tickling.
When Will I See Results?
Final results for Stretch Mark Camouflage & Scar Camouflage can be seen around 4 weeks after treatment. It’s possible to see some immediate results depending on your skin color, the stretch mark or scar, and aftercare. With scars, results can be seen easier on darker skin with light scars than on light skin with light scars. The key to best results is proper aftercare.
While results are mostly successful, it is important to note that all patients heal differently, and the retaining of the pigment is unpredictable. Thus, it is not guaranteed that your skin will accept the pigment. In addition, as with any cosmetic tattooing, final results may differ in color from the initially applied pigment.
