Morpheus8 is a non-surgical, minimally invasive skin tightening and rejuvenation treatment that goes into the deep layers of your skin to remodel the subdermal adipose tissue. Morpheus8 combines microneedling with EmbraceRF technology. The combination of these techniques cause fat coagulation and tissue contraction resulting in 1) the tightening of existing collagen and elastin, 2) the production of new collagen, and 3) fat remodeling without the need for surgery.

In standard microneedling treatments, micro-punctures are made in the skin using an applicator with small, sterilized needles that go into the skin approximately 2 millimeters deep. After which, platelet-rich plasma or vitamin serum is applied to the skin. This technique is meant to promote collagen growth.

Morpheus8 is a minimally invasive outpatient procedure. During your session, a topical anesthetic is applied to the treatment areas. Then the Morpheus8 device is used to stamp the treatment areas delivering radiofrequency energy through microneedles. Depending on the body parts being treated, different-sized needles are used to reach the appropriate depth beneath the skin. The treatment time is approx. an hour and a half depending on the number of treatment areas. Dr. Salama will customize your treatment for optimal results.

While immediate changes are seen after the first treatment, patients may need between 2 to 3 sessions depending on desired results with subsequent treatments recommended about every 2 years for maintenance. Following each treatment, patients will need to apply an ointment for 72 hours. After those three days, patients can moisturize, apply a mineral sunscreen to their skin, and use breathable makeup for the first week if the face is treated. Direct sun exposure should be avoided for at least three days.

This treatment does not have any impact on a patient’s normal daily activities. Patients can expect to experience mild swelling, and minimal redness and bruising for about a week. Ice packs can be applied to the treatment areas to alleviate these symptoms. Tightness in the area may also be felt but should go away in a few days.

Immediately following their treatment, patients will notice a difference in their appearance. Over the course of about 5 weeks, new collagen and elastin begin to form and skin tightening gradually improves. Final results can be seen in as little as 6 weeks to 3 months depending on the treatment area.
