The Role Of The Brazilian Butt Lift And The Tummy Tuck In A Mommy Makeover
It is a known fact that pregnancy can be quite hard on a woman’s body. As such, there can be many changes in the body through pregnancy and childbirth. Primarily, pregnancy is known to affect a woman’s breasts and abdominal area the most.
Women tend to put on weight after pregnancy, and their breasts and other parts of the body tend to sag. Post-pregnancy weight can be shed with a healthy diet and regular exercise. However, there are cosmetic treatment options that can help restore a woman’s body and appearance to what it was before pregnancy.
One such treatment is the mommy makeover, which is typically a combination of several plastic surgery procedures, including the tummy tuck and the Brazilian butt lift (BBL). The general practice is to do these procedures all in one session.
Getting A Tummy Tuck
If your pregnancy has had negative effects on the size and shape of your abdomen and there are no improvements with exercise and diet, you might consider a tummy tuck as part of your mommy makeover.
Loose skin and stretch marks on the tummy and excess fat in the hips and thighs can be especially hard to get rid of. This is the reason why most women who get a mommy makeover opt for a tummy tuck, also called abdominoplasty surgery. A tummy tuck removes loose excess skin and fat, removes stretch marks that lie in the extracted abdominal skin, and tightens the abdominal wall.
A horizontal incision is made that stretches from hip to hip. Excess skin is removed with a scalpel, fat is removed using liposuction, and the abdominal muscles are tightened with sutures. Then the skin is repositioned and a belly button is created by umbilicoplasty, where it is brought out through a small incision and sutured in place. The incisions are then sutured closed.
A Brazilian Butt Lift After A Tummy Tuck
The fat removed from the abdomen during the tummy tuck can be used for a BBL if there is an adequate amount of fat. This can be done using the fat grafting technique, also known as fat transfer or fat injection.
If a BBL is to be done after a tummy tuck, liposuction is done during the first procedure. The fat is then processed and purified in a centrifuge before being placed in the buttocks to provide volume and lift in that area.
A tummy tuck can be followed by a BBL if the patient is in good health and the mommy makeover does not include breast enhancement during the same surgical session. This is because doing a tummy tuck, breast surgery, and a BBL in one session can take longer than any cosmetic surgical procedure should take.
